Our Disneyland Vacation

Disneyland was great! We had such a great time over spring break. The whole trip, from the drive, to visiting beaches, to Disneyland, the shopping; it was all fun. The week went by fast and we played furiously hard. We literally collapsed into bed every single night completely exhausted. We closed down Disneyland the two days that we were there. It was packed, but the weather was perfect and fun was had by
all of us. Some of the details: we loved the beaches. We played on several different beaches in the San Diego area; Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, and La Jolla Beach.
The picture above is at Point Loma. It has great cliffs to explore and lots of ocean life to check out in all the tide pools. We got to see several characters at Disneyland, but never once ran into Mickey Mouse! "Mater" was one of our favorites on the California Adventureland side! That side
of Disneyland is fun and there are some great rides. I recommend getting the park hopper tickets so you can go inbetween both parks as much as you want while you're there. We did some of the traditional pictures, as you can see. And tomorrow..........or the next day, I'll include some more pictures. I'm excited for our winners who will be winning their family vacations to Disneyland. If I could go with you, I most certainly would.

We each tried to decide what was our favorite ride. It was so busy we didn't get to ride all of the rides, but some of my favorites were the "Soaring Over California" on the Adventurland side, Indiana Jones, and the one that I just loved; The Peter Pan ride! It's so darn cute!!! Kaitlyn's favorite rides were Space Mountain and Indiana Jones. (she loved the boulder part) And I'd have to say that Kadens favorite ride was the Materhorn since he ride it three times!

Tomorrow I'll tell you my "bad mom at Disneyland" story, and I'll post more pictures of fun things we did while in Southern California soaking up their sunshine. Something we seem to lack here in E. Idaho!

My First Time EVER...........

I know this will sound crazy to a lot of you, but tonight, for my first time ever, I just watched "Dancing with the Stars!" And you know what....I LOVED IT!!!!


Let me explain. I don't have tv at my house. We don't watch it enough to me to justify paying for it. Therefore, we never watch tv. But tonight I popped over to my neighbors house, they were just settling in to watch the show, I was only going to stay a minute, but I sat down, started to watch, and wha-la.....I'm hooked! What a great show!


I'm left wondering two things.


1. When is it on again, and on what station?


and


2. How can a little radio "star" such as myself do that?

We're going on vacation!

We are soooo excited! One week from today will find us on our way to much warmer parts of the country. To be specific, Southern California! We are FINALLY going to Disneyland.

Now, the history. Several, and I do mean several, years ago, my kids and I started our Disneyland Jar. This is actually a big glass jug which we taped a big picture of Mickey Mouse to, and labeled it our Disneyland Jar. The idea was that we would contribute all our change into the jar (with the exception of pennies) and when the jar was full, our Disneyland vacation could be had! Little did we realize how long it would take to fill the jar, and even though it's not full, our Disneyland vacation is now attainable. I'm really excited to take my kids; they have been dreaming of this for a very long time. I've been to Disneyland several times, but my kids have never been, so I'm excited to watch this whole new experience on their faces. They've also never seen the ocean, and therefore, never been on an ocean beach. We've been keeping an eagle eye on the forecast for Southern Cal, and so far it all looks promising for us. Even though we'll be there for a good week, our schedules are already pretty full. We're planning on a couple days at Disneyland, a day at Sea World, a day at the San Diego Zoo, and a couple of days for the beaches. I think we'll work some shopping in as well. And of course there is the drive. Hey, it's all about the journey, and driving is very theraputic for me. We leave on Friday the 21st.....I'll keep you posted!

On Blogging

FINALLY!!! I think I may have this whole blogging thing figured out. It's been painful no matter how many people have told me that "it's easy!" I'm thinking though, that figuring out HOW to do it will be easier than knowing WHAT to write about. :o) And I will admit that my thoughts, in reference to blogging, have run along the lines of "one more thing to take care of in my life!" But here goes; my first blog EVER!

Whew! Was this ever painful.....but at least I have something posted now! Yeah!
